ScanShift (the "App") respects user privacy and is committed to protecting personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles personal information.

2. Information We Collect

The App may collect the following information:

  • Account information (email address, name)
  • Face and abdominal photos (for analysis purposes only; not stored on our servers)
  • Physical information (height, weight, gender)
  • Estimated body fat and muscle mass results
  • Payment information (processed via Apple In-App Purchase)

3. Handling of Photo Data

We handle photo data as follows:

  • Face and abdominal photos are used solely for AI analysis
  • After analysis is complete, photo data is immediately deleted from our servers
  • Photo data is never shared with third parties
  • Photo data is only temporarily stored on the user's device

Data Handling Details

ScanShift uses face photos, abdominal photos, and physical information solely to estimate body fat percentage and muscle mass.

Data Collected

Face and abdominal photos (JPEG format), height, weight, gender

Data Destination

Photos and physical information are sent to the Google Gemini API (Google LLC) and used by AI to estimate body fat percentage and muscle mass. The data is not shared with any other third party.

Storage and Retention

  • Photo data is temporarily stored in the device's session storage and automatically deleted when the app is closed
  • On the server, photo data exists only in memory during API request processing (a few seconds) and is immediately discarded after processing
  • No photo data is ever stored in our database. Only analysis results (estimated body fat and muscle mass values) are stored

Purpose of Use

Data is used solely for estimating body fat percentage and muscle mass. It is never used for advertising, personal identification, facial recognition, or AI model training.

Face Data Handling

This app processes facial photographs that users voluntarily upload for AI-based analysis.

  • Information collected: Facial photographs voluntarily uploaded by users
  • Purpose: AI-based attractiveness score, body fat percentage, and muscle mass calculation
  • Storage: Encrypted cloud storage (accessible only to authenticated users)
  • Third-party sharing: None. Photos are processed by Google Gemini API for analysis only; Google's API terms prohibit use of submitted data for model training.
  • Retention: Until user-initiated deletion or account closure
  • Deletion: All face data is permanently removed within 24 hours of account deletion

Face data is never used for identity verification, biometric authentication, surveillance, targeted advertising, or training external AI models.

4. Purpose of Use

We use the information collected for the following purposes:

  • Providing and improving our services
  • Customer support
  • Processing payments
  • Sending service-related notifications

5. Information Sharing

We do not provide information to third parties except as required by law. We integrate with Apple In-App Purchase for payment processing, but payment information is not stored on our servers.

6. Data Storage

Data is stored on secure servers. When an account is deleted, all personal data is removed. However, information that must be retained by law will be kept for the legally required period.

7. Security

We implement necessary and appropriate measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of personal information, and to otherwise ensure the safe management of personal information.
